A story about an American traveler and his lady who is Canadian--She has to return to Canada to renew her visa. They arrive on the border between Canada and US out of the city of Newport Vermont. She passes through, but  he is not allowed to pass due to the stiff requirements of Quebec (Canadian Laws) -...hassle and then interrogation. They begin a romance charged by a chain link fence from two free countries...Canada and the US. (there is folly here...the border) He should be allowed to pass--no reason, but somehow fate stepped in. Their romance is via email, and skype across the border in the countries...how to get together for the holidays...how to be rejoined. Weeks pass from late summer- and into Autumn, and into harsh brutish winter. (This story is true... names have been changed) It represents how vivacious freedom can be in spite of itself across friendly borders.
