According to Wikipedia, the movie Better of Dead came out in my birthyear.

Lane Meyer has to ski down the K-12 after his chick dumps him for the captain of the ski team. The movie even has a song about the K-12. "Race The K-12" (by Rupert Hine)

Besides some freak who skis on his bike and chases him for his TWO DOLLARS Lane is a loser who finds love in a French exchange student.

How come they don't make movies like this any more? This movie is classic. The whole mountain is powder.... snow powder...

The worst ski fall I ever took was in WhistlerBlackcomb in Whistler, BC Canada. It was totally my fault. I was going down the diamond slope and not paying attention.

I jumped a small reef with a slight overhang - enough that I couldn't see under - and only by pulling up my legs last minute was I able to not land on a woman who'd fallen's head.

My fall was an inelegant face-plant. No spin, 0.5 DoD, 10 feet, and all the spray went straight into my face and mouth. I felt like I was drowning on ice.

I didn't break any bones but I don't know how I didn't. I tumbled feet over head. The worst part was when the lady who fell came and tried to ask if I was alright and then she fell on top of me and we both started sliding! I had to push her off me to get back up.

I guess it was better than being stalked by gangster paper boys though but it sucked big time. I ripped my knee apart and sometimes it still hurts.
