I met Chris for the first time at neighbors, Chris and Jerry Wellings.  They were in a car club with Chris's best friend, Alan Watson, and had invited the boys over to meet their neice and me.  He was so sweet, family oriented, Christian (he kept talking about Church) and well mannered.  The Wellings neice and I went into the house to discuss which guy we were interested in, it was hysterically funny because we were interested in different guys. It took Chris a week or so to call me after our first "meeting".  But, we finally talked and then we setup our first date and well the rest is history.

Chris's church had a "harvest Party and a Haunted Forest out at his parents home, which sits on 5 acres of land and had a field that was perfect for the haunted forest.  We dressed up, I like to call these, "Beauty and the Beast"



I was not going to dress up and participate because I hurt my foot and was not able to run, and halloween is not really my kind of holiday.

We took our first trip together in 1989- We went to Camp Meeting in Dunn, NC. A revival like church conference with his parents and his dog, Sandy.  We stayed in the Heritage Bible College Dormatory.

We also, took a trip to Oberlin, Louisiana to visit Chris's Aunt Shirley and Uncle James (his father's brother) and His grandmother who was suffering from Alzheimer's and was widowed last year. We played "Cow Pasteur Pool" (Golf) in a cow pasteur


We went over to Texas to Visit his Aunt Joanna (Uncle Curt's widow) and she took us to Galveston.  We were loving being able to drive right on the boardwalk and standing on the jettys.





1990 We had our first "Portrait" made at Olden Mills.


1991-  Was a good year, Chris was working for The Independent Order of Foresters selling Fraternal benefits and Life Insurance.  He Finally asked me to marry him on September 1, 1991.
