I’m not sure how to start. The story of my life is a big statement for me or anyone. I’m not a writer. I understand the pain most people will go through to write about themselves. A lot of features are coming up soon to free the pain anyone might have.
I need to explain my roots, my culture, where this all comes from.
I was born in Canada in the province of Quebec. My hometown is called Warwick. This is a town between Quebec City and Montreal and the region is known as “center of Quebec”. I’m what’s called “French Canadian” or “Quebecois”. My town, as small it is, is starting to get recognition since the national (Quebec) meal is coming from there. The meal is called “Poutine”, a mix of french fries, gravy and cheese.

There is something unique about us, the French Canadians. When we swear, we use words from the Catholic Church like Tabernacle, Christ and many more. I’m not sure when this all started from, nor do my parents and grand-parents. I guess; my ancestors had enough of those religious shackles at that time. They were forcing families to have 15 kids or more. A factory of making children. The reason for this was to continue spreading the French (speaking) soul among the English (speaking) population since the French lost the war against the British. Since this was a cold war between the Protestant (English speaking) and the Catholic ( French speaking), the Catholic church was trying to manufacture French Catholic people by pressuring families to have as many children as possible. All depends on how you see it or not, but my ancestors started to swear using whatever the name of the gears the church was using. So out came “Tabernacle”, “Calver”, “chalice”, etc. A quiet religious rebellion was born.
I have some of it in my blood, but should point out that I’m agnostic. I welcome any religion wherever they come from. Same with politics - I’m more interested in debates and real issues. I’m a free speech believer.
I’m proud to be part of this, StoryOfMyLife.com. I feel like I just opened a small door to an interesting future.
