It Has Been A Rough Year

I am adding this additional chapter to my introduction, because after I initially wrote the introduction, it was very difficult to come back to it and try to make sense of all that I have experienced through the various stages of my life and the trials that I have endured or overcome.  I wish ...

Over 500 years ago, the n word was created as a part of a plan to control and destroy a black man of all of his self-worth.

The description of this word to a slave meant that he was less then nothing. It was not only just about the color of his skin but who he is as a whole. They say this word stems from hate, I also believe it stems from fear.

Have you ever known a person who feels as though you are better than they are? Although, they will not admit it, you can tell by their words. Every chance that they get, they will try to tare you down in every negative way. They want to destroy your belief in yourself along with your spirit.

This word was not just used to call a slave by name, but to create a belief system of who they were.

The name represents the description. By telling you, what this word means. I am using one word to describe who you are, not in part but as a whole. When a slave heard the n word they did not heard today’s meaning a black man, they heard you are nothing worthless stupid ignorant not fit to breathe the same air. You are lower then an animal.

The Bible says that life and death is in the power of the tongue. This word was created to destroy our belief in who we are. One word holds authority over a nation and is continuing to be a controversy. A word that was given to our antecessor to describe who they were. A word in which the receiver has the authority to give it power. If I being the receiver choose to give this word spoken over me power; I therefore, give the giver the authority over me. I give him the authority to create a belief system for me that will tell me who I am.

How can a white man and a black man be in controversy over a word that was created to destroy the self worth of a black man, where is the dispute?

Now we add the letter a, at the end of the word and call it amongst ourselves and it is ok. Why? When a black person says it, it’s not meant or used with hate. But yet you take a word that was not only used for hate but also used for the destruction of a black nation. Did the definition change?

How can you speak death over me in a positive way? This word has no power or authority over me. Call me what you will. I have the authority to receive it or not. I chose not to receive death spoken over me.

Since the creator of the word did not create me. I can only be described by my creator. God. And He says that I am a child of the most high God. To be exact He called me a god, a royal priesthood, a joint heir with Christ, fearfully and wonderfully made.

Stop giving the creator of this word power and authority over you.

I wouldn't want to mess with her. Im sure she could make me 'disappear' from the face of the earth ;-) but why do women worship her so much? Ive never watched her show so Im really just asking.

Oprah

Antje, yes I have written a book and she is in it. You may visit my site at www.secretsoftheheartbook.com Brian; It's a women thing. All women want a shero and for a lot of them she is it. I am my own shero; however, I now understand why she say what she said to me. Thanks for the comments

oprah a liar?

hey girl, congrats on your book! please don't think it was oprah lying, she has so many people working for her that she herself maynot have even seen the book. she probably doesn't even know about it. i'm a standup comedian and know first hand how someone working for you can damage your reputation. if your name is in lights, it is you that they will blame, not your employee. I had a show once and a friend of a friend who was invited acted real nasty to some of the patrons and guests, because he sat with my circle of friends guess who got the negative feedback. That was a venue i lost because of someone elses actions. it was also a lesson learned. don't stop trying to reach oprah. i wouldn't. keep your feet moving girl! yve

Yvonne

Thank you Yvonne, you are so right. I should have said Harpo studio's. I truly believed it was her because of the post-it. I saw one of her shows that she had done about post-it. She stated that she does not read a book with out one. That she loves to mark the pages that she read with one. I think Oprah is amazing, I just could not understand why someone would tell a un-necessary lie.

Hi Cynthia

You don't have to erase your old story, you can add a new story too (I was reading trying to figure out why my comments about Oprah were on this story) :) You can add as many stories as you like. I really enjoyed your last one and I would love to read more from you. -Brian
