"Buttermilk Sky"

My mother used to tell me that a "buttermilk sky" was a sure sign that frozen precipitation was in the forecast, which is a big deal here in Texas since we don't get much of it.  I suppose she learned this from Granddad, back in the days when there was no radar - or at least no TV upon which to view radar.

I've been excited all day about the predictions of frozen rain and have been keeping a close eye on the current conditions, as if neglecting them for too long will cause my ice producing clouds to take a sudden left and head for Oklahoma.  When the weather service updated the winter storm watch to a warning late this afternoon, my heart leapt.  YEA!  My work had paid off.

When I left the office with my just-in-case, work-from-home files in hand, sure enough, there was a luscious pink buttermilk sky leading the parade.

Aw shucks.

Thanks. :-) I wish I had hair like mine too. My hairdresser vanished off the face of the earth and it hasn't been that cool since. LOL
