My grandfather Herbert loved practical jokes. For several years, he and his wife (not my Grandmother, this wife actually died in childbirth and he remarried a few years later) Anna, shared a house with another young couple, his second cousin Jim and his wife Emilia. One day when Jim came home, he saw Herbert lying across the walk, apparently unconscious or dead. He didn't dare disturb the body, so he went into the house and told Herbert's wife Anna that Herbert seemed to be lying in the front yard unconscious. Anna, of course, screamed and ran into the yard to see what was the matter with her husband. She found him walking cheerfully toward the house, and when asked about Jim's report that he had been lying unconscious across the front walk, he of course suggested that there was something wrong with Jim.
