August 23, 1954 my mother was on her way to walker county hospital to give birth to my sister and I. I do not know what time we arrived, I just know that I was born three minutes after my sister. Walker county hospital is located in Jasper Alabama off of 7th ave downtown. After we were born we were taken back to Dora Alabama where my parent were residing at that time. I do not know much that happen for at least 3-4 years after being born. I seem to remember mom breat feeding me because I remember looking up at her while I was eating. I know that sounded strange but it is true. My mom told me of a time before I started walking the I would stand up in the middle of the floor and then fall down she said that dad would laugh about it. Mom also said that Arlene was jealous of my attention that she also tried to stand up and fall and no one laughed because I have already open that book. Arlene would crawl to the wall and help herself up was it just was not that funny any longer. I believe this is what started Arlene to be a bully and someone who was not going to try to impress anyone at all. I remember one time when I was standing on the porch late in the evening and looking down at something that was glowing like a star near the ole oak tree down the hill and near railroad ave. I stared for so long that dad came out in search for me and ask where I have been that I have been gone a long time. I lost the track of time while I was watching the glow that I thought was a star that had fallen from the sky. Dad looked and it was gone like it was never there. I guess no one believed me. I remember my oldest brother the most because he would beat on me and bite me and no one would come to my rescue. My sister Arlene would beat on my and throw rocks at me at a very early time in my life also. Arlene and Carlon made a great team when it came to hiting me. They are still my family and I will always love them but after you grow up you should be able to run from them.
