It Has Been A Rough Year

I am adding this additional chapter to my introduction, because after I initially wrote the introduction, it was very difficult to come back to it and try to make sense of all that I have experienced through the various stages of my life and the trials that I have endured or overcome.  I wish ...

"Waiting!"

The gentle art of waiting, and being patient--is an art--but there comes a time when one must let loose the lagging, cutting the final ropes of those rafts being towed in the storm, for in the final analysis--any good shipman knows the danger of excess weight (even patience could be considered so) can be subject to a 'call'-

As with a stage call--the show must go on!
One knows of Sedona Arizonas general lack of support for the arts (unfortunately) written like a comedy to try to gather pocket cash, leaving out the primary element of art except for videos in lieu of live performances set up at the performance center, unannounced special performances that are little advertised to select and guilded audiences who need entertainment but little shared with the public as to the actual days, hours or specifics only to find they are sold-out (but where?)-The Rave of pocket pullers trying to gain out of the hard earned leverage, big man out of little tourists pockets, constantly pulling, and getting what he/she comes for. I lived here two years, now three, and there has been no change except for more propaganda the poor artists, if they can get a showing as rare as could possibly be found unless they 'self-finance' the gold in which they are ready to hand out, or silver, even time.
In Sedona I can remark the least, not worth it generally if one comes to have a great time listening to cultures blessing unless CD's blaring to the dance tune, or a visit to the brewery where there is a hand out jar for the performers, waiting patiently for a dollar, two, or possibly food and shelter...'them' starving artists! I think I have seen it all during my three year advance ticket to the guilded edge, given too much saddness to be accounted for, and even a prayer and ten-twenty to be had for those out there given a raw deal because of Marovinian disposal to culture, at beckon call. This is a small place one might say where the top 1% comes and dissapears into the cavities of red rocks, upwards to their mountain resort, special monuments to self splurging on one side and total utter destitution and poverty on another level. It is almost a sin. Somehow it is illegal to talk about the poverty quotient here that exists more aptly between the guilding promise of an edge of wealth that far too few would ever in their lives see and that providence has provided to the shuttle of commodity of some...while others suffer.
It is an empty feeling, one of utter destitution, emptiness and perhaps one of failing to see, yet it is here...the poverty of affluence, and the emptiness of thus, and such, watching as the inbetween families get caught in the barbed wire of low pay, difficult living conditions and a mindset that is too unhealthy to be the place where one seeks to live...the silence that falls between, and empty gardens provided to most, if not the coiled wire parameters for only a well established to say...this is ours, a 'private town' of Sedona.
No place I have ever traveled has had its ambiance like this. I am waiting for my departure to a fulfilling existence, filled with some culture beyond coffee shops and internet stations where people glum to the stations, their eyes pinned to silence and cappucino while a simple conversation is all too difficult to have...unless it is about all too common things such as the weather. One might fear that one might be charged for this too in Sedona, a simple conversation...considering time frame, and cost of living all too high as to be reason for a ticket to Flagstaff, Cottonwood or some other western town for something that dosent feel like stilted cheese, but more family oriented and healthy by virtue. The entire issue is waiting!
I wait for some assistance to escape this, or at least some mind to process my needs!
Obvious is the emptiness of community!
Too much advertisement for things that are not there and positively nothing to do except wait for the cultural vortex is absent except for the advertising that says its "the place of arts and culture"- too many artistic causalties in Sedona to mention--a place to go from when you hear the deep stories of the people who tried to survive here and were edged out for the extreme minor league of cultural thumpers. Sad to say there is talent that may not see the time of day who came to Sedona with a dream--and not minor talent---able talent, left out and pettied out to the extreme of profit grabbing.
A dead end town filled with ghosts at best, but affluent, silent and court land Marquise, but shallow in the depth of a millimeter of depth between the pavement and earnest, in a plastic, synthetic and fully manipulated environment. This is not a noble place however. Its a monied existence without refinement, a white sugar environment, a plastic place with little of depth or weight to hang on to.
I wait...
I have so many deep criticisms of how things should be, but effectively they are still weightless here...
Positively nothing could be made by impact on Teflon walls of Sedona which slip and slide, but if one is not connected, can be a very hair raising experience to try, attempt or exercise ones facility in living here-Sedona.
Oh some people call it home I presume, and certainly I have had to. One can get 'squeezies' and 'hugs' and the adorable and sweet aspects, however in ones tour of residence in this town, of course leveraged on connections, and magic, socerry and perhaps as certain sense black and white witchery (if one looks behind the veil).
My research is too filled with 20/20 perspectives. Actually seeing things as witness is another prospect that really should'nt have been seen!
One dosent need to look too far why nothing happens here, and if it does it is sealed behind closed doors, in closets and back room deals...imagination is bought and sold, sweet music alludes to another craft.
I spent 200K of my time here, a great deal of Karma that will never be repaid, trying desperately to work on projects to reach the arts community, cultural community...only to find myself in silence in a desert environment with few to listen, without padding palms, if not reading them. It takes money and resources with which there were no real takers, just talkers, bleeders of time and energy, vampires if one chooses to call a spade a spade.
Of course Sedona, it is not... all towns, but type cast as one sees it by living here..it is here. Its the economy of the rich, but without blood to sustain. In some books nobility has a long legend, is of blood and a heavier weight than just affluence which can be drought and lost...
Funds dried up from underneath here, corruption and pay for play in the minor leagues with major stakes here, to think Max Ernst could ever dream of the surrealistic dark tones this town has gleened from that palette!
I once met Dali and he was impressed with Sedona but only came through once in his travels.
As for Ernst it is surprising...No one knows the name here, or any name of artists who have passed through, seen a place where they would not want to live, the landscape alone being pretty but thats about all, the rest a cash haul of expensive tourism at a price.
I could list the names who struggled here, right and left, names hidden in files and big names who said "Sedona!"..." No! Not in a dream! It only looks good in a tourist catalog!...its a small town that makes its living on catalogs and ads--color brochures and over expensive properties! Not enough gainful employment to fill a flies basket of need! " Well, believe not what you hear, or what is written in the news files that are covered-up--its a society of deeply set insiders who play the game their way! (The Sedona Way--Advertise Big---Rack the Bills up, let the talent scurry for coins and bread) Its sad to say the State of Affairs--The truth being a crystal gazers paradise and little else than a 79 dollar card reading or scrying session (Visa, Mastercard and Karma Card included)
Why see this? Because you will it to experience! You may be surprised at the New York excellence of talent on each street corner, galleries up and down the streets and wealth of knowledge that is superior in Sedona. Your discernment when traveling to such small places to be hooked and hoodwinked, or shish-kabobed in a cultural vortex- on an artistic skewer!
Of course this is just opinion, others have theirs...
Passers through may find themselves stuck!
--but then Sedona ranks with 1000's of other towns, all small towns that have alabaster and golden dreams of becoming arch-angels of Metaphysical paradises! Bring your bible! (This alone may save your soul) But as any kind of artistic cultural center it remains equal to a small town with very rare views of anything that would make it off off Broadway. Enjoy the weather if you come, and bring your wallet--Bring a kind word too, and a prayer--there are many who need this for survival here---Now Im waiting for my departure--today to get out of this awkward somewhat Luciferian fantasy and step out into someplace that may be a road ahead and not one that goes down around and pulls one under-
It is a pretty place
In the heavy than hell category one cant attempt to say Sedona the magic city...maybe Torino. maybe Prague. This is a tourist city, a plastic potamkin villiage and my only aim is to make it successfully out of here...I have waited now three+ years!
