One of my most vivid but odd memories involve holding, what seemed at the time, to be gigantic sunflowers.
My parents owned a tiny Asian grocery store that was located beside a local mall. At the back, right across the street from the parking lot was my old tutoring school. My mother would grab a hold of my hand and we'd cross the road then a large field of grass to reach the small Kumon building. On a side note, the parking lot featured big potholes shaped as the foot tracks of a giant. My cousins and I use to stare out into the fields envisioning it walking towards us. I can still feel the chills and excitement of it now.
