The world of art and 'Pay-for Play' has its advantages in a rich mans game. It starts with making a bundle off of festivals and making a target of tourist dollars while sidelining the "real" for the "festive" or play spirit, wherever this may go. To the serious it is a smack in the face- to the beginner, amature, dilletante a one up on the idea that life is a game and they too can experience- if money were the option, then an artist can be an artist if he/she pays (wrong experience of what art is, or lifes work as an artist) One always has to look at the underbelly of extraction that is going on, the business as usual taking place! Painting Plein Air may be a great experience... but it never costs a bundle to be involved...nor should by a professional artist. Caviet Emptor, for the on sight artist, Plein Air: we know the song as professionals (those who know art as a profession-livelihood, life experienced artists with professional degrees)---and we know of art as sometimes being the intimidating rich-mans hobby in the modern era- as well as the game of "small puppets" in big theaters. | Comments No Comments have been posted yet.  |
